Oakhaven Weddings & Events Venue

Oakhaven has been in Patience Dibrell Ergish’s family for years.  Her grandfather, Louis Nelson Dibrell, purchased the property to establish an operational farm and summer home in the early 1930s.  Upon his passing, his son and Patience’s father, James Fuller Dibrell, purchased Oakhaven from his estate.  When Patience was a child, she and her family used the property as a summer home and Patience has fond memories of riding her horse throughout the gorgeous scenery.  Patience acquired Oakhaven three years ago, but the still-operational cattle farm has hosted weddings and other special events, accommodating up to 300 guests, for nearly 5 years.

“This has always been a beautiful property, and when we had someone call us asking if we could host an event, it spurred the idea about becoming a venue and event center.  We worked very hard to put the pieces of the puzzle together,” explains Patience.  Those pieces revolve around multiple picturesque venues on the Oakhaven grounds, including the Manor House and gardens, the Barn, the Lake, the Grove, and the Signature Oaks.

The Manor House offers guest accommodations that can sleep 12.  It can be used for bridal showers, bridesmaids luncheons, or rehearsal dinners.  It is also available for wedding and engagement photo sessions.  In addition, the house has a Groom’s Lounge so all members of the bridal party can get ready on site.  The surrounding gardens, including a flowering fountain, provide a variety of photo opportunities.

Like the Manor House and the other buildings on the grounds, the Barn is original to the property.  It is an old Dutch barn that offers modern-day conveniences such as lighting, air conditioning, heating, and restrooms.  There is a large deck on the rear of the Barn that overlooks the farm, offering breathtaking views of the sunset.  This building is a great backup option in the event that weather does not allow for an outdoor ceremony.

Finally, Oakhaven’s newest venue, the Signature Oak has the history of 100 years standing tall on the property and also representing the Oakhaven logo which was inspired by the silhouette of this tree.  The backdrop of the rolling hills lush with forest and lake views makes this site one of the most sought after venues we offer to our brides.

Along with hosting dinners, parties, weddings, and corporate events, Oakhaven takes the most pride in its’ roots.  Oakhaven continues as a working farm, maintaining a herd of 100 cattle in a growing operation soon to provide farm-to-table beef.  Oakhaven likes to think of itself as a modern day plantation.
