This wedding was a beautiful blend of personal touches, family love, and a major raid on Oakhaven’s Decor Closet. Simply beautiful!
Falling in love with Oakhaven
Sara and Tim, like a lot of couples, met online. Obviously, they hit it off! They live just outside of Roanoke, VA and were looking for a place to stay the entire weekend but couldn’t find anything close by. Tim searched online and found Oakhaven. Our countryside venue and on-site accommodations provided a destination wedding weekend experience only 90 minutes from home.
The couple wanted to keep their closest family and friends beside them throughout the springtime wedding weekend, so they rented Oakhaven’s four uniquely appointed homes. And they were also looking for planning convenience. Our all-inclusive package for 150 guests, customized to fit their wedding vision, was the perfect solution.

An English Manor morning at Oakhaven
Sara began her wedding day surrounded by loved ones in Oakhaven’s historic English Manor. The home is a place of serenity for the bride, wedding party, and family. The light filled dining room or cozy kitchen are charming places for breakfast. Plus, you’ll find plenty of natural light for your makeup artist and a full-length mirror for a final look with Mom.
A wedding gift from Mother Nature
The Signature Oak gracing Oakhaven’s 1400 acres is probably the most popular spot for an outdoor wedding ceremony. The rolling countryside provides a peaceful backdrop. This seasonal ceremony location is already set with carefully preserved wooden church pews. And couples have the option of using the cross or bringing in any other ceremony backdrop.
Sara and Tim leaned into springtime, starting with their welcome sign – so fresh!
There’s nothing like sweet sisterly love
One of the most heartwarming touches of Sara and Tim’s reception had to be the charming cake for the newlyweds and delicious cupcakes for the guests. This dessert showcase was lovingly created by Sara’s sister Suzzie.
Raiding Oakhaven’s Decor Closet
As part of Oakhaven’s all-inclusive package, Sara and Tim’s reception in the artisan venue featured a fireplace and mantle adorned in florals. Silver played an important role in the couple’s reception decor with the Decor Closet’s chargers, silver topped lanterns, and votives. Surrounded by a gorgeous palette of springtime florals, the lanterns looked especially lovely on Oakhaven’s whiskey barrels and guest book table.

Sparkler sendoff to the Honeymoon Cottage
Imagine feeling like a guest at our own wedding! Sara and Tim’s reception was a fun-filled time with all their family and friends. To end the celebration, the guests sent the newlyweds off to Oakhaven’s Honeymoon Cottage in style with a sparkler departure.
