The April 20, 2024 wedding of Brittney & Terry is sure to provide some beautiful springtime inspiration for your Oakhaven wedding. The color palette was a lively mix of pinks, peaches, and corals. Floral designs were varied yet worked so well together. Butterflies graced decor and hair accessories – and even played a role in the celebration. And there’s more!

The love story

After knowing each other for six years, Brittney and Terry were engaged July 4th at Myrtle Beach. Shortly after the proposal, fireworks lit up the Grand Strand and the couple knew they’d have to have them at their wedding. With over 1300 acres, Oakhaven provided the ideal location.

The couple also chose Oakhaven because they loved the Signature Oak where so many ceremonies are held. And they felt like Oakhaven offered the perfect backdrop for their nature/butterfly theme. Brittney & Terry booked Oakhaven two years before saying their vows to ensure each detail was planned to perfection.

First moments that last a lifetime

Brittney and Terry made sure to allow for plenty of time before the ceremony for some memory-making “firsts.” Brittney and her father created a cherished time when he read her sweet words to him on a handkerchief, and she then pinned his boutonniere.

The bride also exchanged a first look with her Ring Deputy. The couple, meanwhile, opted for a “first touch” and gift exchange.

Mother Nature is an honored guest

April is a beautiful month to marry outside at Oakhaven. Like many couples, Brittney and Terry chose to have their wedding processional through the hillside doors and down the grass aisle to the Signature Oak. The couple exchanged their vows in front of a rustic arch decorated to complement the wedding party florals.

After the ceremony, guests adjourned to the Grand Dutch Barn’s terrace for cocktail hour with signature drinks while family members and the wedding party posed for outdoor photos. Brittney also took advantage of the elegant backdrop of the Manor House for her bridal portrait.

Springtime colors, themes, and florals

Britteny’s bridesmaids expressed their fashion sense by selecting their favorite look within a color wheel of pink, peaches, and corals. The variety of styles was a reflection of individuality. And while Terry’s groomsmen were more conservative in their Navy blue, the ties popped with color – and each was embroidered on the inside with the groomsman’s name.

Butterflies played a charming role in the wedding theme. Like those found in Mother Nature, they lightly graced hair accessories and tablescape decor. And a live butterfly release was also part of the celebration.

The eclectic use of floral decor in the Grand Dutch Barn, whether an elevated arrangement or something more low-profile, and the colorful napkins added pops of color throughout the reception space. To balance the color, Brittany and Terry’s dessert table was an elegant selection of treats and small cake in white. The couple’s initials and a heart motif were used in the cake topper as well specialty lighting in front of the fireplace.

And that’s not all!

During cocktail hour, Brittney and Terry snuck away for some incredible “golden hour” portraits with his grandfather’s vintage car. The couple used the car at the end of the evening for their departure. But not until they made good on their Myrtle Beach engagement promise. Brittany and Terry, along with their guests, were mesmerized at the end of the evening by a spectacular fireworks display!
