We are heading into full Fall wedding season and while official wedding season is considered May-June, October and November are the next two top months that our calendar quickly fills up. If you feel that getting married in the fall at a barn venue is just to cliché, here are three tips to help make your wedding day more memorable and not so cookie cutter from all of the other fall weddings that you have attended.

1 — Choose a Different Color Scheme

Your typical fall wedding colors are going to include your browns, golds, oranges and burnt oranges/reds. While these colors are timeless, classic and a “never go wrong” theme, we love it when we see fall brides use a different pop of color that we wouldn’t have even thought of. Emerald Green, Plums, a romantic Mauve Pink are some fun colors that aren’t used frequently and will really leave your guests saying “yes!”

2 — Add a Little Flair to Your Dessert Table

Who doesn’t love dessert? We certainly do! When it comes to your dessert table and having a fall wedding there are plenty of options to add a little pizzazz that will please your friends and family. Talk with your bakery of choice about adding some more fall desserts in place of cupcakes. Personal size items like pecan pies, apple strudel bites, donuts or even churros can make a fun impact on guests and leave their tastebuds craving more! Don’t have the budget for such a variety? Try asking your bakery about their different fall flavors for cakes and cupcakes. Most wedding cakes are already at least 2 different flavors. Adding some Pumpkin, Apple, Cinnamon type flavors to your cupcakes is a yummy and easy way to leave your guests drooling!

Let Nature do the Talking: Minimal Ceremony Decorations

One thing consistently said from couples and their friends/families about Oakhaven is they chose this venue because of the stunning views. Fall time here at the venue is one of our favorite times, especially for ceremonies that are taking place at our Oak Tree. With the leaves changing colors and the golden sun shining through, truly ceremony florals are not needed for October and November weddings. The beauty of nature truly shines here during the fall season! Bonus point on minimal florals for your ceremony space; your able to save money and use it elsewhere for your budget! Maybe you can use the extra funds for some delicious apple pies?
